After completing his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 from Yıldız Technical University Istanbul, Turkey, Tolga Uysal went to Pace University, New York, where he graduated with a master’s degree in Financial Management. During his master’s degree program which was focused mainly in derivatives markets, he started to work as a Project Manager for Swaps Monitor in New York. In 2000, he joined a venture capital firm in Istanbul where he was responsible as a fund manager for sourcing and screening acquisitions of technology start-ups in the region. Tolga Uysal moved to Turkish Derivatives Exchange in 2003. He was one of the members of the team who established the first derivatives exchange in Turkey. He first worked at the Research Department where he designed the first futures contracts of the country and then became the head of Training and Marketing Department. When he left the exchange in 2013, after the Borsa Istanbul merger, he was the head of Project and Product Development. In 2013, he set up Deriva Consulting & Training.
Tolga Uysal gives lectures on different subjects such as derivatives markets, financial risk management and enterprise crisis management and leadership for graduate and under graduate students in different universities. He is fluent in English and French and holds a Series 3 license. He also completed his PhD degree in Finance at Izmir University of Economics in 2021.
